My garage transformation ~ Step 1 (preparing for a yard sale)

I woke up this morning feeling VERY motivated! I have finally come to the mind that I was going to get my garage in order. It was in pretty decent order when we moved here last year, but has just slowly gotten worse and worse over the year. We would go out and put something in the floor instead of moving the ladder and finding a place for it up on the shelves, hehe. Oh well. I would like to buy a ping pong table and put it out there so our family can have some fun with that. Plus, I would like to have our garage available in case we get a hail storm, to help protect our vehicles. The weekend we went to Dallas, Ryan missed Friday. Then we came home and he was sick on Monday, so he missed that day also. So this Friday, we are going to have a small paycheck, but unfortunately our bills don't wait. So I decided: what better time to have yard sale than this weekend. I already posted an ad in craigslist, so I can't back out now. That helped with my motivation to get all of this done. I'm going to go through our stuff ALL week and I hope to get rid of A LOT! Then after the yard sale is over with, I plan to keep on working in the garage, and organize everything better. I think this week will be the biggest step to our garage transformation, but I'm so excited to do it!

As embarassing as it is to show this, here is what I had to start out with. I honestly couldn't hardly walk in the garage :P

But what a difference one day has made! I have a pile of yard sale items (although not everything over there is yard sale stuff, but most of it is), and I have a CLEAN floor! YAY! After I'm done with the yard sale, I'm going to organize all those shelves, it is going to be wonderful when I get done!

Awesome movies!

Last weekend (the weekend before we went to Dallas), Ryan and I went down to Ollie and Sharon's to spend the weekend. Well they have the Hallmark Channel and Sharon had turned on a movie on that channel. First of all, I'm not big on Westerns/Frontier movies, and that is what this movie was. I watched it here and there, but didn't really sit down long enough to see what was happening. I helped Sharon clean her house, and I had just mopped the floor, so I was basically stuck in the TV room, so I decided to go ahead and watch it. Wow, it was actually interesting...HMMM, what do ya know, I do like movies that take place in the Frontier days (1800's), hehe. It took quite a while to let the floors dry, but the rest of the house was basically done, so Sharon and I sat down to relax and watched the movie together. Ryan had to work that day, and wasn't going to be there until later. And Ollie got a call from Paul D. and he wanted Ollie to come and meet him in Shawnee, so Ollie was gone all evening. So....the TV was ours to control ;) This particular movie is a part of a 6 movie story. It happened to be #3. I started watching it in the middle of #3. So I definitely got into this movie. Then after I watched 3-6, it was done on TV, so I HAD to rent the first 3 to see what led up to when I started watching it ;) It is such a GREAT christian movie series. They were very religious people in the movies. It is a love story about 3 generations of a family. It is written by Janette Oke. And directed by Michael Landon Jr. It honestly makes me wish I would have lived back in that time period, weird huh? But I really do... I wish life wasn't as fast paced as it is now. Oh well, I can just keep watching these great movies and keep on wishing, LOL. But if you ever get a chance to watch these movies, I think you'll love them!

We're back!

Hello again! We made it home last night and I was so tired that I didn't get on the computer, I was ready for bed!!! We had such a great time down in Dallas! We got down there Friday around 11am. We went straight to 6 Flags. It wasn't too awful busy, so we got to ride the rides fairly quick. We rode the Batman ride first (it has the railing on the top, instead of under you) Then as soon as we rode that, Ryan made me to the Dive Bomber Alley/Sky Coaster. I was SO SCARED!!! It is where you get strapped into a harness and they attach a cord to your harness. Then they take you up, & up, & up..... I'm not really scared of heights, unless I know I'm going to be free-falling, which is EXACTLY what you do!!! It was terrifying, I wanted to yell "STOP, I don't want to do this!!!" But I knew they wouldn't hear me, and I knew I was doomed to have to do it. My husband made me! So we finally make it up to the top and they have a speaker up at the top and it tells you. "3-2-1 FLY!" Then Ryan pulled the rip cord, and we went head first for 2-3 seconds, and then finally leveled out on our stomachs. After that it was actually fun. My poor heart, it was hurting so bad! Then after we got that out of the way (THANK GOODNESS) we went and rode all the good rides! I love rollercoasters. The Titan is definitely a little scary at first. But it is also SOOO fun. Our 3 favorite rides were: The Batman, The Titan, and Mr Freeze. Mr Freeze starts out indoors and they immediately shoot you out at 70 mph. You don't have much time to get scared. The whole ride lasts 45 seconds, not long at all. At the end of the ride, you are seriously going STRAIGHT up at a 90 degree angle, then you go backwards. It was all so much fun!

We went again on Saturday, it was SO busy, but we had so much fun then also. Then on Sunday, we went to church. I grew up in Montrose/Delta area and there are a few people from that area that have moved to Dallas. It was so nice getting to see faces that I grew up with. We went to my cousins, Rod and Lynell's after church and had hamburgers. Then after lunch, my cousin, Caleb did a ventriloquist act for us. He is SO good at it! We really enjoyed it. Then we headed home and stopped halfway home to see some other friends, Tom and Vanessa (also from Delta area) and we visited with them for a little while and came on home. It was a fun, but very tiring weekend! I'm so glad we got to go!

9th Anniversary

Well it is finally here! Today is our actual 9th anniversary, but we're celebrating this weekend. It is also Dale & Gale's birthday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you both :) Today is going to be a very busy day of packing. We will go spend the night with Ollie and Sharon tonight, where the kids will be staying this weekend. Then tomorrow morning we will leave for Dallas and we will be at 6 Flags all day tomorrow and Saturday. Then go to church on Sunday and come home Sunday evening. I'm so excited!!! I do have to say that since Vickie passed yesterday, I will be thinking about her and feeling guilty that we couldn't go to her funeral, but we had 3/4 of everything paid for on our Dallas trip, and it isn't changeable/refundable. It really does make me feel bad. It is hard to enjoy yourself when a tragedy has just happened. I don't want anyone to think that all I care about is my own fun, because I guarantee that I will be thinking of her a lot.
But it is going to be a wonderful time. Of course I will post pictures and tell you all the details when I get back :) But do me a favor, and pray for my back/left shoulder. It has bee KILLING me for 2 days, and I really hope it isn't hurting tomorrow. That would be miserable! We'll talk to you all very soon :)
