It's a small world!

Yesterday was a BEAUTIFUL day here. It was in the upper 60's so I decided to take my kids to the park 2 blocks away from our home. Taylor rode her Heely's and Blake rode his bike around the park on the sidewalk, and I sped walked to keep up with them. After we all had walked/rode around for a while, I let the kids play on the playground. While Taylor was playing, she found a little girl that was in her class last year. They played together so well, and she just seemed like a sweet little person. After a while, the little girl's mom came over and just started visiting with me. One thing you all may not know about me is I'm so shy and won't really start conversations, but if a person initiates conversation, then I'm very friendly and outgoing. Unfortunately, it is usually other people that break the ice. (In fact, I met my best friend, Beth, because she was brave enough to come and visit with me, which I'm SOOOO thankful for ;) Anyway, back to my story, hehe. So I visited with this person for a while. She had another little girl who was a toddler and she was just keeping an eye on her while we visited. I don't really have many friends outside of church, so I really didn't see us getting to be GOOD friends, but if I ever saw her at the park again, I planned on saying hello to her. Well...today I went to a very sweet sister's funeral today. Her name was May Myers. Nice lady! She was one of the sisters that I scrapbooked with. Anyway I went to her funeral and when May's family walked in to sit, there was the lady from the park. I couldn't believe it. She is linked to our church! I don't know if she saw me, but if I do see her in the park, I plan on telling her how I knew May. I got to thinking about things after that. I could have just kept the conversation to a minimum and I could have maybe acted unfriendly. But you NEVER know who is linked to our wonderful family of brethern! We definitely have to be a light to the world. I just thought it was neat :)

Fever

Baby fever keeps on getting worse for me! I had Taylor almost 8 years ago and Blake almost 6. After Blake was born, my marriage with Ryan got VERY bad. I decided a long time ago that I didn't want any more kids because I wasn't sure that we would stay together. He was always gone, and spending his time with VERY "wrong for him" people. Also, Ryan and I have always struggled with money and I just didn't think that we could afford more children. So, it may have been wrong for me to feel SO against having another baby, but the truth is, I did. I was very much against the idea of another baby. Well, in September, our marriage COMPLETELY turned around. But finances were still horrible. At the beginning of this year, we both started really getting into Dave Ramsey (a debt free plan). And we are completely for it, and trying to achieve a debt free life. So what I'm trying to say is the two reasons that kept me from wanting a baby are not reasons that I can use anymore.
Honestly, I am always happy (every month) when I'm NOT pregnant, so I really don't feel like I'm ready yet.
I have a LOT of CLOSE friends having babies right now. It also seems like a lot of people that had babies when I did, are now having a second set of children. A lot of people waited a few years between kids, and I see that happening to us. I have been around a lot of babies recently and like I said, the fever keeps getting worse and worse ;) Ryan and the kids are all dying for me to have another baby. I still would like to wait a while longer. I really want to lose some weight before I put more baby weight on, but I think sometime in 2009 or 2010, we will more than likely have another baby. A part of me dreads it, but another part of me is really excited to have another one. But who knows what will happen. I am praying about it. God knows what is best for us, and he knows my heart. So I am trusting him to make it happen IF and WHEN it should happen.

Freaky, but cute

After I got the kids off to school, I walked into my hallway for something, and saw this on Blake's bedroom door. It kind of startled me at first, but I looked at it a little more and saw how cute this really was. Blake put his Spiderman costume on the door, in perfect form, even to the Spiderman slippers. He couldn't get the gloves to stay on, but as you can see they are right by the costume. He's been dressing up as Spiderman a lot this week, I think it is because we just recently bought Spiderman 3 for him, hehe. He has been doing an army crawl all over the floor of the house. He LOVES Spiderman. He goes through fazes of who he is really "into" but at the moment, we are back into Spiderman. I just thought this was too cute, so I had to post.

Wisdom teeth

I am sitting here in pain and HATING wisdom teeth. I have been sore for well over a week. This particular tooth has been coming in for a couple years. It will grow for a while, leaving me in pain, and then stop for a few months and then grow more, etc... I grew up going to the dentist and my other three wisdom teeth have all been pulled by a dentist. Since my last tooth, I have really gained a lot of faith. It is still SO tempting to go to a dentist, I know it will be practically painless to have the tooth "extracted." But at the same time, I think, ya know if I give in now, God will try me with something else (to make me a stronger person). I want to have TOTAL faith that I could go to my father-in-law and with the help of God, we could get that tooth out of there and I wouldn't have to go through this pain anymore. I'm just really scared of something going wrong. I really do need to get this tooth pulled, it is growing outward (like towards my cheek/jaw). SO PLEASE pray for me that I will have a peace of mind that I can go have it pulled with faith that God will help the person pulling it. And any feedback from others that have been in my shoes would be GREATLY appreciated ;) But please remember me, I really need it!

Mom and Dad's Anniversary

Today is my mom and dad's 43rd anniversary. As you all know, Dad is not here to celebrate it. He died shortly after their 40th anniversary. They were very much in love. They were GREAT examples of a happy marriage, and I hope Ryan and I can be good examples of a happy marriage to our kids and others that see us. We are definately doing great! But here's to the many wonderful years my parents did get to spend together.

I'm a HORRIBLE mother!

I feel SO terrible tonight. Blake's hair was getting so long and I was going to go and have his hair cut this weekend. Well, Ryan wanted to do a lot of stuff this weekend and time ran out. I had been watching the many people who cut his hair before and thought it looked pretty easy. So I decided to give it a try. Yeah, it did not look good at all! So Ryan tried to fix my unevenness and kind of cut too much and I was forced to have to shave Blake's hair :( I hate shaved heads so much and did NOT want to do this to him at all! Well he had tons of hair all over his back and all over so I took him to the bathroom and started bath water. In the meantime, he saw himself in the mirror and literally started bawling. I told him that he would have hair again and very soon. He quit crying, but is still VERY UNHAPPY about it. I told him I would NEVER try to cut his hair again, I would from now on go to the people to pay them to cut his hair. I'm SO SORRY Blake!

Valentines Day

Well, we did go to dinner last night. I was mistaken, it was called "The Gaucho". It was very good, and very different. They had a salad bar that also had more than salad. It had like Beef Stroganoff and Salmon, etc... And the main meats were brought to you by "Gauchos" that walked around with meat on a skewer, and they ask you if you want meat, and then they cut off a piece for you. It is a great place to try, but not a place that I want to go very often. Lee and Cherrie also went and I thought it would be funny if they sat us close to them, and guess what, they did ;) HEHE. But I really enjoyed it. Ryan and I hadn't been out on a date in... I don't even remember when. It was great. I'm hoping we can go away for a weekend on our anniversary in May. I hope everyone else had a great Valentines Day :)

My FAST paced trip to Colorado

One week ago today, I left with Ollie and Sharon to Colorado. We traveled all day and got to Pueblo, CO. on Tuesday night. We stayed the night and left the next morning at about 9:00 am. and the average time to get to Montrose was about 4 1/2 hours. Not for us that day. The roads were HORRIBLE. Almost 3/4 of the way between Pueblo and Montrose was bad roads. Monarch Pass was horrifying. We slid a little going downhill. And winds were blowing dry snow, so you couldn't see anything but white. The skies were white and lots of snow. The roads didn't get clear until we were 5 miles out of Montrose. It was a very scary day. Our nerves were all tense. But we did make it to Olathe about 3:30 pm. I sat and visited with my mom for about 1 hour and my sister, Peggy, from Ouray called and wanted us to come up and have dinner with her and stay the night. She was planning on going to Kansas the next day so this really would be the only time I saw her. I was reluctant to go back in the mountains, because of the roads. But I went, my mom decided not to go afterall.

I had a wonderful time at Peggy's house. She has a gorgeous house! She fed us dinner and then the kids wanted to get in her jaccuzi. It was snowing outside and was probably 10 degrees or less, but it was fun. Then we all went to bed and the next morning Peg left for work and Kayla left for school. Then the kids wanted to go sledding. In Ouray, they close off a road and make it a sledding hill. I wanted to make the kids happy, so I took them. We didn't have snow clothes, mittens, anything. So we only went down 2 runs and we were all freezing. So we left Ouray to head back to Montrose.

I went to see one of my closest friends, Beth. We had a great visit, I miss living around her and Joe SOOO much. They were definately our closest friends. Then after our great visit, I went to have lunch with my other sister, Sue. Her daughter, Savanna joined us. We had a nice visit for an hour and then Savanna and I went to JC Penneys, where she works. She gets a discount PLUS the store was having 75% off sales. So I got quite a few clothes for under $30.00. I LOVE finding deals like that. Then I went straight to my Aunt Merrell's house. I fear that she won't be here a lot longer. So I wanted to go see her, while I could. We had a "tea party", and the kids loved it. They got to use sugar cubes, which they thought was amazing. HEHE. Then I finally made it back to my mom's house. We visited for a couple hours and then I headed to my neice, Stephanie and her hubby Jeremy's house and visited there for a little while. Then I went to my sister, Sue's house and visited with her and her hubby Steve. They got a little chihuahua puppy that was SO cute, the kids LOVED playing with her! (Chihuahua's are my favorite dog). And finally I went back to mom's house and we all played Old Maid. Blake hated being the old maid, he threw a fit, it was hilarious!!! And after the game, I CRASHED. I was so stinking tired I couldn't see straight.

The next morning, we got up and got all my stuff loaded in the car and headed up to Grand Junction for Betha's funeral. It was sad to know that I'll never get to have another great visit with her again, but I know she is in a better place. I'm so thankful that she doesn't have to suffer anymore. I'll TRULY miss her.

At the funeral I did get to see Chantel, Dale and Andy. I got to see my nephew, Shane, and many other friends from when we lived in GJ. Then as SOON as the funeral dinner was over we left to head home. It was about 3:30 pm, which means that we were only in Colorado for 48 hours. I crammed a lot into those 2 days! We got to caravan with Sylvia and Skylene, which was nice! The roads were great heading home. We stopped in Pueblo again and left home the next day. It was an exhausting trip, but I'm so glad I got to go.

Going to Colorado tomorrow.

Well I didn't see this happening, but it is. I am riding to Colorado with Ollie and Sharon to Betha's funeral. I was really close to Betha, I used to help take care of her when we lived in Grand Junction. She was like another mother figure to me. Ollie is officiating the funeral for her. I am truly going to miss her! But it is such a blessing that she doesn't have to suffer with that terrible affliction anymore. Taylor also had a strong bond with her. This isn't an ideal trip for us, but I wouldn't want to miss out on giving my love and support to her family. I'll always love and miss Betha.

The funnest super bowl ever!

Yesterday, as you all know, was Super Bowl day. I am a Denver Broncos fan, and since they weren't playing, I really didn't care if I watched it or not. But Ryan told me to call Christopher and Melissa and see if we could come over and watch it with them. They said yes, so we went over there. I was going for the Giants (the winners ;) because the Patriots have won too many times in recent years. There were 5 couples (possibly more) and LOTS of young kids there. I would guess there were about 30 people there. The kids stayed in Aiden's play room (well...most of the time) and Kimber G. (who is 2 days older than Taylor) came, so Taylor and Blake both had one kid to play with. But I actually watched the whole game, and actually ENJOYED it! When the Giants scored the last touchdown with 2 minutes left in the game, a lot of people were just going wild then, it was FUN!!! Everyone brought snacks and drinks, so there was plenty for everyone, and it just turned out to be the funnest Super Bowl party I've ever been to!
